Video Reference for AM assignment

Today is the beginning of week 2 of Class 3 (Intro to Acting) at Animation Mentor. Last week we were supposed to come up with an idea that shows an change of emotion in a character and sketch it out and film ourselves acting it out.

My idea was an arrogant/confident actress is getting her handprints on the Walk of Fame. Her hands get stuck in the cement and she tries to pull them out. Finally, they pop out throwing her back and knocking off (gasp) her wig! (another gasp)

It was hard trying to get it down to 250 frames but I managed to get it down to 176 which will give me more time to refine the animation instead of adding to it. Alot of my other classmates had their's going to 400 frames but they are going to have to shrink it down a lot.

It took a lot of takes to get it just right. I waited for Dee to get home from work in order to make sure it read correctly. We acted it out and finally figured out the best way to communicate the idea in less than 250 frames.

This weeks assignment is to start blocking out our animation in rough form.

Oh and theres a new trailer out for the movie my Mentor is currently animating on at Blue Sky Studios. It's called "Horton Hears a Who".
